Mary exemplifies innovative and compassionate leadership, always centering students and communities in everything she does. A true trailblazer in flex-based education, she has built bridges between instructional models, school districts, and communities—creating coalitions that focus on what’s best for kids.
Under her leadership, CORE Butte has become a hub for effective flex-based TK–12 practices, inspiring educators statewide to explore new and transformative approaches to teaching and learning. Through her advocacy, mentorship, and steady guidance in times of change and challenge, Mary continues to unite and uplift the broader charter community.
